AONE Foundation Research Project Made Possible By Versant® Grant

The nurse leaders of today are not just focused on the here and now, they are also focused on the future. Healthcare is a rapidly changing business and nurses are critical to creating high quality care and optimal outcomes for patients. While we can’t say exactly what the business of healthcare will look like in 10 or 20 years, we do know that nurses will continue to play an important role on the continuum of care. Having the right tools that ensure a safe, competent workforce in all areas of practice drives patient safety and helps care providers deliver quality outcomes.

At Versant® we’re focused on fundamentally improving all aspects of the nurse workforce’s ability to provide safe and competent care. This goal drives everything we do. It’s reflected in every product we create and every client we serve. As a company we support clients that want to improve clinical and leadership competencies at every level across the entire health system.

Versant also recognizes that in the area of healthcare, particularly with regard to nurses, there are a number of non-profit organizations dedicated to promoting the development of healthcare professionals. These groups don’t offer products or solutions, and may not touch patients directly, but they support nurses and the critical role they play in creating better outcomes.

Through our non-profit Versant Center for the Advancement of Nursing® we seek to aid these organizations with financial support in the form of grants which allow them to advance their efforts. In April of this year we had the pleasure of awarding a three-year $100,000 grant to the AONE Foundation for Nursing Leadership Research and Education to support an exploratory study into sustainable workforce development strategies.

This three-year study will identify strategic solutions that will guide nurse leaders in decision making to address critical health care delivery issues in a manner that promotes safe, high quality care and optimal well-being for patients, families and health professionals.

From now until July 2nd, AONE is accepting applications for researchers interested in participating in the project. Complete details can be found online at the AONE Foundation’s Research Grant Opportunities page.

We are excited to be a partner with the AONE Foundation on this project and look forward to watching the study unfold.
